Gmail Skin

Would you like gmail to look like this on your computer? If yes, then this post is for you. This will work if you use Firefox.

Click here to download the add-on called 'Better Gmail'. As you click, a yellow bar will appear across the page that will read "Firefox prevented this site (amritvatsa.blogspot.com) from asking you to install software on your computer." Click the "Edit Options" button and allow amritvatsa.blogspot.com to ask you. Then, click on the link again. Press the Install button in the dialog box, and restart Firefox.

Once Better Gmail is installed, go to your Gmail account to see the enhancements. To turn a feature on or off, visit the extensions Preferences dialog and select or deselect the appropriate checkboxes. Refresh Gmail to see the changes.

    Very neat! And they have done it with a FF extension, so they don't need to bother about the underlying code at all!

    Makes me wonder.. GMail afaik became extremely popular for two things, its very clean interface, and its amazing search. If these guys (Better Gmail) can almost rewrite UI so much, makes me wonder what kept junta waiting for Google to come up with this whole concept of clean interfaces in the first place :-)
